Three...And counting!

Snow...Finally... : )
All is closed, well, not all, just the school, and İ still need to meet the pupil who is happy with it... İf our school is closed we can not make our finals and if we can not make them then the farewell party will be postponed, which means that many of the important special persons that would attend it can not! : ( İt is really said that we can not enjoy the last days with the ones that we enjoyed the last months!...
But not everything is bad...due to the fact that snow finally, came to town!!! On the 23rd at 04:30am it started and it still haven't stop, not even for a few minutes!!!
And look at the city on the first day ( a few hours after it started!):
İt is so amazing... İ looked a fool all day with a smile and always singing! Of course, you are a fool if you go to the other edge of the city with this weather to buy...Chocolates!!!

Day 2: still snows...and the city is getting white...

Day 3: ok! Today I left the building to buy some supplies ( for those who don't know what supplies are, they are coke and Winston! After all I am in Turkey!!!)

Beautiful, isn't?

CEVAHIR...

Sunday is laundry day but saturday is... Shopping day!
So today me and Su decided to buy some things to send to those that we like and always remember... : ) So, we went to Taksim! Our first stop was the PTT services ( the postal offices or something remotely related to it!) and for the first time, the man who always help us not being discriminated wasn't there, but also for the first time we were not treated as yabanci's ( well, we were but ours translation techniques aren't perfect yet!) and the person who deal with our affairs was kind and he was always repeating çok güzel to us! That we understood! : p He offered us çay, even after we refused and even pills?... That we didn't accept! We managed to send our stuffs to Portugal, which is very good! Then we walked through Istiklal caddesi and we went to our favorite bazaars to buy some more turkish gifts and some cheap clothes! Next week we have to go again to the PTT! But, after meeting Julien, we took the subway (the immense five stops subway...) and we went to CEVAHIR, the biggest mall in Europe!!!Si, mori, irias adorar! I thought that we are going to Profilo, another shopping mall, but my mistake was a good one! It's huge!!!
And we just went there to buy CD's, DVD's and a DVD player! But of course, dinner time was very close so we decided to supper! Today it was, for me, a perfect mealing day, 'cause my lunch was a gato diable in now my favorite turkish place: özsüt!!! And now I was eating KFC ( yeah, I know about the bird flu, but it is Kentucky!)!!!
Well, i'm recovering the blog, very slowly I know, but i'm a very busy person. Eh!Eh!Eh!

Riding to adalar to take a bath!!!

This weekend me and Su decided to discover İstanbul, or even better, to go to some places that we're saying for about three months that we are going to see but never go! Now that the countdown started... : (
So, today we went to the Princess İslands, or in portuguese, as ilhas Príncipe (não estou a traduzir mal, é mm assim!)! İ went there last week but İ caught a really late boat so when İ finally get to Buyukada, it was already night, so İ returned to the traffic city life! But last week, İ was really fortunate, 'cause İ had the chance to see one thing that İ never had seen out in the wild: dolphins!!! And İ saw about 10! So beautiful they are! This city really has everything!!! But today it was different, because we planned! We went at normal hours and we even decided to see Heybeliada, the other big island! Su took with her her guide so we could see all the interesting spots!
Heybeliada: cute place, if you are Stephen King and need inspiration!
Buyukada: bigger than Coimbra, has more hills than Coimbra and no traffic, which means that you do not have the smtuc drivers! you just have this...

...you could rent a donkey but we are two conscious girls who do not enjoy with animal exploration so we rent bikes even if we don't ride for years, but it is true that you never forget how to ride it!!!
The said thing is that in the guide the distances seem very close, but they are not, or they are turkish distances, 'cause the Monastery of St. George it is not at 40 or 50 minutes away! You ride, ride, ride and when you finally reach the top you are too tired to laugh of the hugeness of St. George! İt is beautiful, for sure, but it could be just a little bit bigger! : p Of course, you have this when you finally ride your way through and when, finally, you can stop, relax, take pictures and get a smoke!!!

They are very huge islands and just one hour away! Great! But the best of them is really when you go back to civilization and you try something really relaxing and new, and kinda traditional, even if you try it in a touristic place! İ'm talking of the place where you go to change your skin or just to see some naked girls...these are the bad aspects of the....TURKİSH BATH!!! But after riding all day, really there's nothing better!!! Well, next weekend some more adventures, for sure!!!

Jinhus to all!!!

saudade...

What do you do when the only person who can make you stop crying is the person who made you cry?

Hold Still...

"In this little town
Cars they don't slow down
The lonely people here
They throw lonely stares
Into their lonely hearts
I watch the traffic lights
I drift on Christmas nights
I wanna set it straight
I wanna make it right
But girl you're so far away
Oh, hold still for a moment and I'll find you
I'm so close, I'm just a small step behind you girl
And I could hold you if you just stood still
I jaywalk through this town
I drop leaves on the ground
But lonely people here
Just gaze their eyes on air
And miss the autumn roar
I roam through traffic lights
I fade through Christmas nights
I wanna set it straight
I wanna make it right
But man you're so far away
Oh, I'll hold still for a moment so you'll find me
You're so close, I can feel you all around me boy
I know you're somewhere out there
I know you're somewhere out there
Oh, hold still for a moment and I'll find you
You're so close, I can feel you all around me
And I could hold you if you just stood still
Oh, I'll hold still for a moment so you'll find me
I'm so close, I'm just a small step behind you
I know you're somewhere out there
I know you're somewhere out there
I know you're somewhere out there"
