I can't believe its chicken!!!

Regular day except that the light went down three times today at the dorms...I hope that it means that snow is coming to town!!! ; )

Three months almost in Istanbul...and still a yabanci!
At dinner time, Fipa showed me the desert that Ohran brought and we tasted. We all seen it in some candy stores and still we haven't taste it. No reason why, we just didn't. But tonight we taste it and its not so bad, even because it tastes like a portuguese sweet, mas the consistency is different. But it has some tiny strings and when Fipa asked about it Ohran just said that it had those strings because they're chicken strings! It is made of chicken! Since we knew that, none of the portuguese girls eat it more! It is too weird to have a sweet, a desert made of chicken. The rice desert was weird enough, not because its made of rice (even because theres a portuguese desert called sweet rice, and its main ingredient is rice, of course!), but because of the lack of rice. Fipa noticed that we can, someday, just buy these two deserts and we'll have a full meal of chicken and rice, main plate and desert, all in one!!! : P
Oh! Yesterday we bought a Christmas tree!!!

One week and two days to go to christmas.

Is Santa coming to this town?!?!?!

remembering the flavors!!!

Hello, babes!!!

Today was a regular sunday, I didn't do anything exciting (eventhough it was laundry day!) or even got out of the dorms, but one good thing happened! My parents sent me a package from Portugal and inside there was one privilege that the turkish people don't have: pork sausages! ; p
It looks kinda stupid to be thrilled for a couple of cans of pork sausages, but I am! Tonight my supper was not chicken or pasta like all the meals that I had the privilege to have here in Turkey, but instead I had two fried eggs, chips and sausages, not german or turkey sausages but "Nobre" sausages! The only thing missing was "paladin", the best mustard of the entire world, in my point of view! But still I had the best meal here so far!
Oh! Yesterday night was very good also, the concert was beautiful. Nora didn't like it, but I did, a lots. Although it is a show for tourists, i'm a tourist in Turkey and I enjoyed so much! The beginning was a little weak, though, but there were two perfomances that really astonished me. The show has traditional dances of several areas of Turkey, and some of them were very, I don't want to say boring, but they were, actually! But one was amazing: the black sea (or Karadeniz) dance. It is only danced by men but the strenght and the speed of the dance is really overwhelming! The other was the first time that I saw it, and now i'm sorry that I took so long to see it, 'cause it's really breath taking. At the first glance it may appear a little bit dead but the all perfomance takes you to somewhere. I'm talking of the mystical dance of the Whirling Dervishes, called Sema. You just see three men wearing a white strange suit with a long skirt, also white, and they wear a fez in their heads, and they just spin. But they spin for about six minutes without falling, twisting or even move their arms. Well, I think that i'm killing the magic of the dance, but everybody should see it and then they would understand what i'm saying. It is so beautiful, even though there's just three men spinning!
And tonight was the last episode of the 44oo. : (
Well, once again i'm writing this when I shoulda been sleeping, so I better say goodnight!

Goodnight!!! Sleep tight, don't let the bad bugs bite! :)

Hello, babes!

This should have been my first post and not the second but that's the way that life is!
This post is just to talk a little bit about what I am doing and where, well, to talk about me, essentially.
In this picture there's me and my girls (Su, Norinha and Fipa) in the birthday party of Dennis and Ludwig. We all look so good when we take pics together! :P
We are now all studying in Istanbul Bilgi Universitesi in Istanbul, evidently. We arrived for about three months now but still we don't talk the language, 'cause its to hard and we are a little bit lazy. About the city, well, its huge and very crowded. The life here is different from the Portuguese life, not worst or better, just different. And I think the best adjective to describe Turkey country, life and people is "weird"! Me and Su, we noticed that in the beginning we just said this word to describe everything different that we coulda found. But we like it! And this city has one of the most beautiful things that I ever seen: the sunsets! They are so specials and there aren't two look alike, each one is unique.
Well, I have to go now 'cause i'm going with Su, Norinha, Dennis and Julien to see a concert of traditional turkish dance and it starts in one hour and we still haven't eaten. And although in the computer the time marks 17:34, actually and locally it is 19:34. Su's computer still has the portuguese hour!
Well, see ya! Jinhus
